11 cultists arrested, accused of unleashing violence in Ogun area
Eleven persons have been arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly belonging to a cult in the state.
It was gathered that the suspects were arrested in the Sango Ota area of Ogun State.
The state police command said detectives swooped on the suspects in a hideout on October 11 as they prepared to carry out a violent clash, police said.
The Nation reports that the command also accused the suspects of being among those responsible for the spate of violent cult clashes in the Sango area.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “Four other members of the gang were later arrested with the assistance of Ijoko Ota residents.”
Oyeyemi added that they had all confessed to being members of Aiye cult.
