209 Federal varsity Dutse graduating students make first-class degrees

The Federal University of Dutse (FUD) has announced that no fewer than 209 students graduated with first-class honors.
This was made known by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo, while interacting with journalists at a pre-convocation media briefing at the New Senate Complex of the university in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The Vice Chancellor said the university’s focus is on providing quality education to all students, regardless of their grades
This approach, he said, “ensures that every student receives the best possible education.”
The VC revealed that a total of 4,277 students are graduating from the university at the fourth coming 8th and 9th combined convocation on Saturday.
Sabo, who said he had not awarded any honorary degrees during his tenure, said he was more committed to academic excellence, adding that honorary degrees might also be perceived as motivated by personal gain.
The Vice Chancellor explained that the mentor-mentee programme of the institution “is a key strategy for promoting moral values and addressing the issue of moral decadence among the younger generation.”
He added, “By pairing students with experienced mentors, we can provide them with positive role models and help them develop the skills and values they need to succeed in life. The programme will help to shape the character and values of students.”
