52-year-old OAU lecturer slumps, dies in office

A 52-year-old lecturer at Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Dr Ayo Ojediran, on Thursday slumped and died in his office.

The university was thrown into mourning as Ojediran’s colleagues and students said his death was devastating.

The Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr Abiodun Olarewaju, said the death of the lecturer was an unpalatable incident.

One of the close friends of the deceased, Ayodeji Obisesan, described Ojediran’s death as a rude sock.

He said, “Such a very nice and humble man to the core. Always willing to help. May your soul rest in perfect peace Dr Ojediran Isaac Ayodele.”

Some of his students also lamented the death of the lecturer and prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
