Ayade presents budget of Quantum infinitum for 2023 C’River year
The Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, has presented N330bn budget estimate for 2023.
The governor, who presented the estimate to the State House of Assembly on Thursday, christened it ‘Budget of Quantum infinitum.’
Ayade pointed out that N130bn would be for recurrent expenditure while N200bn would be for capital expenditure.
The governor told the lawmakers that the budget would focus on agro-industrialisation, as well as the completion of unfinished projects.
He said, “The recurrent expenditure represents 39 per cent and will take care of salaries, gratuity among others, while the N200BN (61 per cent) intends to kinetically crystalise all outstanding projects.”
Ayade, said by early 2023 about 85 percent of the work force will retire.
“There is need for massive recruitment now so that the new people can understudy those who are leaving.
“By early next year, about 85 percent of the workforce in the cross River state civil service will be leaving , so there is an urgent need for massive recruitment.
“I have been able to create an Independent economy under my watch that needs to be sustained.”
Vanguard reports that since the inception of the Administration of Ben Ayade, a Professor of Environmental Microbiology, titles of budget from the Cross Rivers are usually subject of discussions in political terrains.
