Odumosu denies EFCC appointment, sources say retired AIG eyeing something else
Retired Assistant Inspector of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has denied his reported appointment as the Economic and Financial Crime Commission new boss.
The former Lagos State Commissioner of Police said the reports were untrue.
He said the information was the handiwork of “mischief makes and should be totally disregarded.”
Odumosu, I’m a statement said, “Good Morning everyone, I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported “EFCC Appointment”., I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue.
“This information must have emanated from Mischief Makers and should be totally disregarded.”
Sources, however, said Odumosu was approached by the Presidency for the EFCC job.
One of his close friends still in the police said, “He was actually approached for the EFCC job, but the man wanted something else. He did not want investigation job.”
Another friend said, “I believe some mischief makers in the Presidency threw the appointment story out there. Maybe they do not want him to get the appointment he is actually eyeing. Their plan will fail.”
