Please come back: FG invites Labour for emergency meeting Tuesday

The Federal Government has extended an invitation to the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress.

We gathered that the move by the National Salaries Wages and Income Commission was in a bid to stop the ongoing strike by the organized labour.

The labour had yet to give the Federal Government its stance whether it will attend the Tuesday meeting.

On Friday, organised labour announced that they will be commencing a nationwide indefinite strike due to the refusal of the Federal Government to increase the proposed minimum wage from N60,000.

Reports on Monday showed that there was significant compliance across the nation as government and other public activities were shut down by workers.
