The Kano State Government has postponed the resumption date of both primary and post primary schools for the commencement of 2024/2025 academic session.

The resumption had earlier been announced for boarding public and private primary and post-primary schools as on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, while day schools were to resume on Monday, September 9th, 2024.

However, in another statement on Saturday evening, the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru, quoted the Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa saying there had been a shift in the date due some urgent reasons.

Doguwa, who declined to state the reason for the postponement, said that another date for the schools resumption would soon be announced by the ministry.

The statement reads, “I wish to inform pupils, students and parents that the announcement earlier made for schools resumption on 8th and 9th Sept, 2024 is now being postponed due to some urgent reasons that would help in improving conducive learning atmosphere for our children.

“Another day for the resumption will be announced in due course.”
