Lagos, three other states get new CPs
Mr Olanrewaju Ishola Olawale has been approved as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.
He will replace the former Commissioner Adegoke Fayoade following his recent promotions to the Assistant Inspector General of Police.
His approval was announced by the Police Service Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd), in a statement on Friday.
Olanrewaju was the CP in charge of the Ports Authority Police Command, before his new posting.
The PSC said he would bring with him a wealth of experience in securing vital national assets and overseeing maritime security.
The PSC also announced the posting ofs some CPs to Akwa-Ibom, Abia and Ebonyi states.
While Isah Danladi Nda will man Abia State, Anthonia Adaku Uche Anya will be in Ebonyi, and Miller Gajere Dantawaye will superintendent Akwa Ibom.
Argungu said the new state command Police Commissioners must be prepared to make a positive difference in the security management of their states of posting.
“DIG Argungu said the Commission will monitor their performance stressing that they should not waste time to hit the ground running
“He told the new Commissioners that it is their duty to build a competitive, competent and efficient Police Force in their states of posting adding that the Commission will continue to encourage them for optimum service delivery.
“The approval of the postings signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani has been conveyed to the Inspector General of Police for implementation,” the statement added.
