Dabiri hails Nigerians in UK for contributing to Nigeria’s development

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Dr Abike Dabiri, has called for unity among Nigerians, saying such is the only way Nigeria and Nigerians will build strength and use “our diversity” to build the country.

Dabiri spoke at the Nigeria Community Association Nigeria Independent Day Celebration on October 1 in Richdale, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom,

The NiDCOM boss, who hailed the diaspora Nigerians for their “Immeasurable contributions” to the development of the country and the progress made so far, said their skills, talents, resources, experiences, and global exposure had contributed to the development of Nigeria and United Kingdom as well.

She said, “Let us remember that there is strength in our diversity, and unity is key. In Nigeria, we may be differentiated by our tribes, but here in the diaspora, we are all seen as Nigerians. Therefore, we must continue to support each other and remain committed to being the very best in our various fields of human endeavour.

She urged the diaspora Nigerians to continue being good representatives of Nigeria in the United

Kingdom, while also staying connected to Nigeria.

“We need you because together, we can achieve greatness and continue making a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians, both individually and as a nation.

“I commend you for being good ambassadors of Nigeria, and for contributing immensely to the development of the United Kingdom.

“Happy 64th Independence Anniversary to us all. God bless you, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she added.
