Fubara donates N200m to Omega Power Ministries
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has stated that the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State is driven by opponents who are vying for control of the state’s resources.
He assured that his administration will continue to use these resources responsibly for the people’s benefit.
Fubara made these comments on Sunday while addressing the congregation at Omega Power Ministries (OPM) during the 51st birthday celebration of the church’s General Overseer, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, and the 18th anniversary of the ministry, held at OPM’s headquarters in Mbodo, Aluu, near Port Harcourt.
“There is a reason for this crisis, and that reason is the control of Rivers State’s resources,” Fubara said. “Rivers State resources belong to you, and we will ensure they are used wisely for the betterment of our state. We ask only one thing in return: continue to pray for us. We won’t lose focus on our mission for the people, and with your prayers, we will fulfill the purpose of governance.”
The Governor commended Apostle Chinyere for OPM’s extensive educational programs, which equip children with vocational and technical skills for future employment. “Life is about giving, not just taking,” he said. “For all you’re doing for humanity, God will continue to strengthen you. We recognize the impact of your contributions.”
In support of OPM’s infrastructure projects, Fubara donated N200 million, specifically acknowledging the church’s efforts to construct a new building for its TV station. “On behalf of the government and the people of Rivers State, I am donating N200 million to support this project,” he announced.
“OPM has injected power into the lives of many, and in return, I am giving you more power for the progress of Rivers State,” Fubara concluded, expressing confidence in the strength gained through the prayers and support of the people.
