Kano NSCDC arrests six suspected vandals, motorcycle thieves

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested three suspected vandals in the Na’ibawa quarters, in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

The Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement on Thursday.

He said the suspects allegedly vandalised and stole a multi-million naira transformer armored cables in the area, adding that they were unlucky as they were apprehended in a location with the property receivers.

He listed the suspects as Lawan Ahmed, 17 of Unguwa uku quarters, Ahmad Yusuf, 21 of Kawo quarters, Nassarawa LG and Mujahid Kabiru, 22 of Kofar Waika, Gwale Local government Area.

“The command has since launched an investigation into the case with a view to effect more arrests of individuals linked to the syndicate,” the statement added.

Similarly, the State Command of the Corps, also nabbed three suspected motorcycle thieves in Kano.

“Two of the suspects are Abdulrazaq Umar, 30, resident of Sharada Ja’en and Aminu shehu Muhammad, 42 of Janbulo quarters, in the Gwale Local government area of Kano State.

“The men are members of a syndicate that specialized in stealing motorbikes in the metropolis and they were picked up on Unity road, Kano while unlocking a parked motorcycle in a nearby Plaza in the area,” Abdullahi said.

He said the other motorcycle thief, one Musa Ibrahim, 30 was arrested at Kwanar Gafan, Garun Malam local government area.

“The suspect disassembled the bike’s key and stole it at Kwanar Garko, Garko local government of Kano, before his eventual arrest by operatives of NSCDC.

“The six suspected criminals are now in custody of the Corps investigation department, and after completion of investigations they’ll all be charged to court,” Abdullahi said.
