Tinubu appoints ex-Lagos transport commissioner as MD of NRC
President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).
He is Dr Kayode Opeifa, a former Lagos State Commissioner for Transport.
Sources said Opeifa got his appointment letter on Tuesday, 21 January, 2025.
As commissioner, he introduced policies that significantly improved public transport and traffic management in Lagos, one of Africa’s busiest cities.
His contributions helped ease congestion and laid a strong foundation for the state’s rapid urban development.
He later served as Transport Secretary for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
