Man, 22, arrested for stabbing 17-year-old to death in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old young adult for allegedly stabbing a teenager in the neck, which eventually led to the teenager’s demise.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, Nafiu Kotatkoshi, the suspect, Jame Jidda of Ilelaryari area, Birnin Kebbi town, was arrested for the killing of 17-year-old Salihu Hassan of Gura Guri village, Makera district in the Birnin Kebbi LGA.
The duo was said to have engaged in a heated argument, which eventually led to Jidda stabbing Hassan and killing him in the process.
In a statement on Monday, the PPRO said, “On 24th November, 2025 at about 0700hrs, information received revealed, that one Salihu Hassan ‘m’ aged 17 years of Gura Guri village, Makera district, Birnin Kebbi LGA of Kebbi State, was seen lying in a pool of his own blood at Ilelaryari area, Birnin Kebbi.
“Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Birnin Kebbi, mobilized a team of policemen and vigilantes to the scene and swiftly evacuated the victim to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, where a medical practitioner certified the victim dead.
“Following a credible lead, one Jame Jidda ‘m’ age 22yrs of Ilelaryari area, Birnin Kebbi town, was arrested in connection with the case.
“In the course of preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to have used a shape knife and stabbed the deceased on his neck, as a result of mere argument.
“Efforts are being intensified to recover the exhibits and transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation.
“In the light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, appealed to youths in the state to always seek redress from the appropriate authorities, when aggrieved, instead of referring to self help.”
In another development on the 20th of November, 2025 around 7.30 in the morning, the police arrested one Muhammad Sa’idu for stealing one motorcycle.
According to the police spokesperson, Sa’idu of Kwanga village was arrested along with Kabiru Suleiman of Warrah town, Ngaski LGA of Kebbi State, by men of the Police Division, Warrah, for stealing one Bajaj motorcycle belonging to Murtala Ibrahim of the same Warrah town.
“When interrogated, the main suspect confessed to have been also conspiring with one Abdulrahman ‘m’ of Tungan Mairuwa village, Hassan Kamaye and Hussaini Kamaye both ‘m’ of Auna town, Magama LGA of Niger State, Yahuza Aliyu Warrah and Umar Kapon still at large.
“When search was conducted at the residence of Yahuza Aliyu, the following items namely; two sewing machines, two boat engines, three pumping machines, two generator sets, two grinding machines, one plasma TV, four motorcycles, one six KG gass cylinder cooker, two big solar panels, and three motorcycle tanks were recovered as exhibits.”
