Eagles soar into AFCON semifinal with 2-0 trashing of Algeria

Nigeria has advanced to the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Super Eagles defeated Algeria 2-0 in the quarterfinals match held at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco .
The Nigerian team dominated the game, with Victor Osimhen scoring the first goal in the 47th minute, followed by Akor Adams’ goal in the 57th minute.
Nigeria’s strong performance was marked by their possession-based game, with Algeria struggling to cope with their pace and skill.
The win marks a significant milestone for Nigeria, who are now set to face Morocco in the semifinals on January 14.
Nigeria dominated key statistics, recording a vastly superior number of shots on target and controlling possession for long spells, particularly after taking the lead.
Midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi dictated play before Ndidi was forced off through injury.
