Sad! Ambulance runs over individual during Lagos marathon [VIDEO]

A video circulating online on Saturday captured the moment an ambulance struck an individual during the 11th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon on Saturday.

The video, shared on X by a user identified as #Mrolaoluwa, showed runners moving along a city road before an ambulance approached from behind and appeared to hit someone along the route.

The user who posted the clip wrote, “ I hope that guy that ambulance just hit at the Lagos City Marathon now, is safe.”

The Lagos State Government through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement on Saturday said the government was investigating the incident.

“The Ministry of Health and the Sports Commission are monitoring the situation, with senior government officials visiting the hospital.

“The patient is stable, and under close professional supervision.
A thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway,” the statement reads.
