APC wins Ogun ward bye-election

The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has declared that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress won the Ohunbe Ward 8 bye-election in the Yewa North Local Government Area .

No fewer than 19 political parties participated in the election but, Moses Opeisa of the APC won.

Opeisa secured 2,255 votes out of a total of 3,263 cast.

Speaking on the outcome, the Ward OGSIEC Returning Officer, Kabiru Oyeyemi, praised the voters and party agents for their cooperation, saying the exercise was smooth and peaceful.

The OGSIEC Chairman, Babatunde Osibodu, also commended the people of Ohunbe for their commitment to electing a new Councillor to represent their interests. He described the exercise as peaceful and orderly, a testament to the maturity of the people of Ohunbe.

Voters at the collation center were also full of praise for the process, describing it as peaceful and transparent.
