Sango tollgate: Three die, six injured as another truck suffers brake failure

About three persons died on Friday, while six others were injured in another accident at the Sango-Ota tollgate end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

This accident is coming on the heels of another one at the same place two week ago.

The Friday accident was also said to have been caused by an articulated vehicle, which ran into two other vehicles and crushed people on its way.

The vehicle was said to be descending from the Ilo-Awela area on its way to Lagos, when it suffered brake failure.

Traffic officers from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC and the Police are currently at the scene.

The victims were said to have been taken to the State Hospital at Onipanu, Ota, while the corpses have been deposited at the morgue.

Traffic at the tollgate was affected as commuters and motorists were held in the gridlock that accompanied the accident.
