The 38th Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has resumed for duty, declaring war on indiscipline and misconduct in the command.

In his maiden press briefing at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday.

Ojajuni emphasised that the police in Ogun State under his leadership would be professional  and align with the police the Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu.

He said,  “The citizens are our bosses. This principle will guide all policing activities across the state.”

He reiterated that abuse of office, human rights violations, corruption, and incivility would not be tolerated, noting that discipline remains the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Commissioner said different mechanisms have been put in place to ensure transparency and accountability, zincluding the Complaint Response Unit, CRU, which he described as a vital channel for reporting police misconduct.

He noted that the CRU is accessible via telephone and social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Ojajuni further disclosed that the Gateway Shield App and the Command’s Control Room would operate around-the-clock to receive complaints and intelligence from the public in real time.

To strengthen internal discipline, he said the X-Squad and Police Monitoring Unit would be fully deployed, warning, “There will be no safe haven for misconduct.”
