I’ll continue to kneel down to deserving people — Toyin Abraham

Actress Toyin Abraham has addressed backlash over her consistent habit of kneeling to greet people at public events, making it clear she has no plans to change
The actress spoke out on X after a fan, Lady Victoria, criticised the gesture, describing it as unnecessary and suggesting it could attract disrespect.
However, Abraham defended her actions, stressing that she only shows such respect to individuals she believes deserve it.
“I won’t stop kneeling to people who value and deserve it, my darling. I will continue to go on my both knees to greet people who value and deserve it no matter the status.”
The reaction followed clips from the 70th birthday celebration of Gbenga Daniel, where she was seen kneeling while greeting businesswoman Shade Okoya, her husband Rasaq Okoya, and other notable guests.
Lady Victoria had earlier argued that many of the people Abraham knelt for were not significantly older than her, warning that the habit could make her appear that she is diminishing herself.
