ADC faction suspends Atiku in Adamawa

Ebun Emmanuel –April 13,2026
A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The decision was made public on Monday by the faction’s chairman, Raji Sulaiman Zumo.
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, was also suspended by the same group.
The latest move adds to the growing internal crisis within the party, where rival blocs are contesting leadership positions.
A separate faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe is also laying claim to the office of national chairman.
The dispute influenced the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition from the ADC leadership headed by former Senate President David Mark.
