Abuja three-storey building collapses,two killed, 40 trapped

No fewer than two persons are feared dead, while over 40 are believed to be trapped in the rubble of a three-storey building that collapsed on 7th Avenue, Gwarimpa, Abuja.

The structure was a three-storey shopping mall near Charley Boy Area at Galadinma, Gwarimpa.

The acting Director, Forecasting, Response and Mitigation, FCT Emergency Management Agency,  Mrs Florence Wenegieme, who said her team had rescued six persons.

“The six persons have been taken to Gwarimpa General Hospital. We are working to rescue more victims,” she said.

The Director, Department of Development Control in the Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA, Me  Mukhtar Galadima, confirmed the development.
