Adeleke sworn in as Osun sixth gov, says he will be servant to all

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke and his deputy, Kola Adewusi, have taken the oath of office and allegiance.

The oaths were administered on both men by the Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, at the a main bowl of Osogbo City Stadium.

Adeleke came into the venue in a long convoy of vehicles at about 11:20am and completed taken his oath at about 11:50am.

Present to witness the event were dignitaries that included the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate and his running mate, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa respectively, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom.

Also present were Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, a former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Also at the venue were wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Titi Atiku, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and a former Oyo governor, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, among others.

Adeleke of the PDP is succeeding the past Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress to begin a four year term as the sixth executive governor of the state.

The new governor said, “I am well aware of the expectations from the residents in the state. I will be a servant to all.”

The governor said his reforms would cut across education, security, healthcare, infrastructure, local government administration, judiciary, public service, adding that his administration would be labour friendly.
