Again, Buhari jets out to London for medical check-up

President Muhammadu Buhari will today travel to London, United Kingdom for a routine medical check-up.

A statement by his Media Adviser Femi Adesina said he is expected back “in  the second week of November”.

Adesina wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari leaves for London, United Kingdom, October 31, 2022, for routine medical check-up.

“He returns to the country in the second week of November, 2022.”

Despite budgeting billions of naira annually for the State House Clinic and other hospitals in Nigeria, the Nigerian leader and members of his immediate family routinely travel abroad for medical tourism.

While the latest trip is said to be for a routine medical check-up, the presidency seldom provides details of the medical reasons for which the president travelled even when he spends months on such trips.
