A journey to connect Port Harcourt in Rivers State with Aba, Abia State turned to frustration on Thursday after a passenger train broke down in a remote bush area around of Imo River, leaving travellers stranded for hours.

One of the passengers, a lady, took to social media to lament the situation, sharing a video of the halted train and voicing her frustration.

According to her, the train had been stuck in the bush for more than two hours, with no clear explanation from officials.

Confused and worried travellers said they were given different reasons for the breakdown — ranging from “no diesel,” to “lack of water,” and even “bad brakes.”

The conflicting excuses only added to the anxiety of passengers.

However, later reports confirmed that the passengers eventually made it home safely.
