A former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun on Wednesday led the ADC governorship campaign rally in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Amosun is a Senator elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

As the candidate of the ADC in Ogun, Biyi Otegbeye, flagged off his campaign at the Ake Palace Square, while Amosun stormed the venue around 1.49pm

Amosun had earlier said he would support the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for the presidency but would support Otegbeye for governor.

However, the former governor was absent when Tinubu visited Abeokuta last week.

The former governor declared his support for Otegbeye on Wednesday.

He said, “As you see me, I am an APC member. For the presidency in Abuja, we will vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In Ogun State here, by God’s grace, it is Biyi Otegbeye.

“You would be wondering, ‘Isn’t Amosun in the APC?’ Well, the reason I’m here is two-fold. Ogun Central has produced the governor, Ogun East has produced the governor. Why is it that Ogun West has not produced the governor?”
