Armed Forces must prepare for election violence from Obidients – Reno Omokri

Nigeria’s security outfits have been advised to prepare for violent reactions to the 2023 general elections.

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, said the armed forces must prepare for election violence from Obidients who are the supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Omokri said this following an unruly display by the supporters at the presidential town hall meeting organised by Arise TV on Sunday.

The meeting had in attendance Obi, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State who is the running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar; Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Kola Abiola.

Absent were Atiku and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Shortly before the event began, Obidients could be seen protesting the presence of Okowa. According to them, the even was for presidential candidates, not their running mates.

They also threatened to take Obi away from the event since Atiku and Tinubu failed to show up.

Their display was rowdy and gave the event a disorganized look.

Reacting, Omokri tweeted, “For months we warned of Obidients propensity for cyber bullying and threat to life. Today, at the AriseTV town hall, they took it a step further. I hope the armed forces have a contingency plan. Obi will lose in 2023 and they must prepare for violence from Obidients.”

If this were football, Obidient FC would have been banned for the next 2 Presidential debates due to their violence, unruliness, and disruption of the AriseTV town hall. Their IPOB like behaviour is a threat to the 2023 election, which Obi will definitely lose!#TableShaker
