ASUU UNILAG begins indefinite strike

UNILAG
The University of Lagos chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has resolved to begin an indefinite strike over salary-related grievances
The union said the decision followed what it described as “amputated” salaries paid to its members for January and February 2026 by the university management.
In a communiqué released after an emergency meeting on Tuesday, the chapter’s chairperson, Idou Kehinde, and secretary, Adesina Arikawe, stated that lecturers would withdraw their services until the issue is resolved.
The statement explained that the industrial action will start on Wednesday and will continue indefinitely until the university authorities meet the union’s demands.
