Bimbo Ademoye kicks over ‘copyright theft’ of YouTube film, threatens legal action

Bimbo Ademoye
Bimbo Ademoye, Nollywood actress and producer, has taken to social media to complain about an alleged copyright theft of ‘Where Love Lives’, her latest movie, on YouTube.
The movie, which was released on December 24, 2025, was produced by Ademoye and premiered on YouTube.
‘Where Love Lives’ stars Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro and has over 18 million views on the video-sharing website.
In a post on Instagram on Saturday, Ademoye claimed that YouTube had redirected the monetisation of the uploaded film to another individual who was posing as the owner of the intellectual property.
She added that the alleged culprit “claimed copyrights and took monetisation, which means he’s claiming the money from the movie belongs to him”.
“I’m not an irresponsible person, I do not take what doesn’t belong to me, I do all my findings before uploading a movie,” Ademoye writes.
“I pay for all the soundtracks I use in my movie. Why one person would wake up one day, steal my song and claim it to be his own, I don’t know.”
Ademoye vowed that she will not rest until the alleged culprit is “behind bars”
“But this is me saying, until I see you behind bars, I will not rest. I’d let the authorities do their job. “
In an earlier but now-deleted post, Ademoye also accused the culprit of uploading the film’s soundtracks to music-streaming platforms and claimed the boon.
