Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye is rejoicing after resolving a long-running copyright dispute concerning her latest film, ‘Where Love Lives.’

Taking to Instagram after the matter was resolved in her favour,  Ademoye expressed gratitude to her team, family, and fans for their unwavering support.

She described the resolution as a divine affirmation of her efforts.

“God don’t play about me, that’s how I know he’s real. I want to say a very big thank you to my mother @uduakisong1 for not resting till the issue was resolved. I love you forever mom. To @ugoccie and her team, thank you for standing by me and helping out. @sir.fela thank you for always helping to make sure things are resolved. And most importantly! To my Amazing cyber family! Haa you guys, una no dey carry me play o. You guys reported Emmanuel Davies till the song got taken down on all platforms. I’m kicking my feet in the air like a little child,” she wrote.

The conflict began when an individual operating under a false identity claimed ownership of a song featured in Where Love Lives. Bimbo Ademoye, who has full rights to the song and the artist’s approval for its use, faced an unexpected strike on her film as a result of the false claim.

With the support of her legal team, including notable figures in Nollywood and digital rights advocacy, Ademoye was able to secure a resolution in her favor, ensuring the song remained on all platforms without infringement.

The actress’s victory highlights the growing importance of copyright protection in Nollywood, where intellectual property theft can significantly impact filmmakers and their works.
