The Management of Bayero University, Kano, has expressed gratitude to Aspira Corporation for donating an ultra-modern laundromat with 40 state of the art washing machines to the institution.

BUK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Sagir, during the inauguration of the laundry facility on Tuesday, said the new ultramodern laundry facility, marked a significant milestone in continuous efforts to improve the infrastructure and services of BUK, as well as enhance the experiences of students that are privileged to pass through “this great citadel of knowledge.”

He added, “The new laundry facility will provide our students and staff with convenient, efficient, and modern laundry services.

“It is an upgrade to the quality of life on our campus. Students will now be able to focus more on their studies, extracurricular activities, and personal development, knowing that their laundry needs are well taken care of.

“For Bayero University Kano, ASPIRA Nigeria Limited is indeed a friend in need. Over the years, the university has benefitted from the company’s magnanimity in several areas including payment of scholarship to 60 students of the university through the Student Union Government.

“Others are provision of mobile laundry services to students in 2022 when the university was facing acute water shortages on both campuses, among others.”

In his remark, the General Manager, Aspira Nigeria limited, Abbas Jaafar, said the laundry facility was donated as a corporate social responsibility for students to wash their clothes and to alleviate their difficulties.

“This is part of our social responsibility because we want the students to focus on what is important, focus on their education and their personal growth; that is why we donate this so that they can wash their clothes for free. Laundry does not have to be a problem anymore.”

Answering questions from journalists, the Public Relations Officer of Aspira, Linda Aguacha revealed that it was a nationwide project ASPIRA was undertaking to ease life for students living on campuses across the country.

She said the same facility has been donated to the University of Lagos, University of Ibadan.
