Call me ‘Woman of God’ – Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has announced that she will no longer be addressed as “King Tonto”, marking what she describes as a new phase in her spiritual journey.
The actress had adopted the title in 2018, months after her separation from her former husband, Olakunle Churchill.
At the time, she revealed on Instagram that she had officially changed her name, even sharing a photo of her voter’s card reflecting the update.
“Officially changed my name to King Tonto; that feels good. Bear with me while I opt for greatness, King Tonto,” she wrote in the post.
Now, eight years later, the actress says she is stepping away from the title, attributing the decision to what she calls spiritual realignment.
In recent months, Dikeh has spoken openly about a renewed faith journey, which has also seen her reconcile with Churchill.
In a video shared on Instagram, the actress said the decision to drop “King Tonto” was guided by divine instruction.
“It gladdens my heart that I can do this on the first day of March; it just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life that He’s marching me away from everything that is old and into the prophecies that are new every morning.
“In alignment with the will and purpose of God upon my life, I will no longer be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh,” she said.
Dikeh added that she is comfortable being called Woman of God, Evangelist Tonto, Tonto Dikeh, Aunty Tonto, or Big T.
“Whichever one suits you, but I will no longer be addressed as King Tonto, and this is on the instructions of the Holy Spirit. I do know that this is an alignment of the will of God upon my life,” she said.
She concluded by expressing gratitude to her supporters who have followed her journey, describing it as a transformation “from a mess to a message.”
