Christian genocide: Tinubu should be intentional to tackle terrorism, says Adelaja

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Adelaja Adeoye has called on President Bola Tinubu to act on United States of America’s concern.
The politician said if government allowed the US to use military forces against terrorists in the country, Nigeria and Nigerians might be the worst for it.
Recall that US President Donald Trump has last week designated Nigeria as a country of particular concern over the alleged genocide of Christians in the country by Muslim terrorists.
He had further announced the US plan to attack terrorists in the country if the government was unwilling to act “against Muslim terrorists.”
However the government has continued to insist that there was nothing like genocide against Christians, adding that terrorism challenge affects everyone in Nigeria.
But Adelaja said, “We don’t need foreign military intervention to tackle our domestic terrorism issue.
“What we need is intentional leadership that protects lives and properties, regardless of religion, tribe, creed, or background.
“History shows that countries subjected to military intervention often struggle to recover, with some still facing humanitarian crises. Let’s be cautious and not celebrate actions that could harm our future.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic performance may be disappointing, but allowing foreign military intervention could lead to disaster and long-term damage.
“Those seeking to invade us might use protecting Christians as a pretext – a smokescreen or Trojan horse.
“Ordinary Nigerians will suffer the consequences, while elites move their families to safety.
“With 2027 elections approaching, let’s vote for trustworthy leaders who prioritize our nation’s well-being, security, economic prosperity and unity.”
