There is no clear sign that the reported removal  Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, barely six months after he assumed office has happened.

Although, the approval for Hundeyin’s removal was given on Thursday, March 5, 2026, the backlash that followed the action immediately it was leaked to the media made the police management to pause the signal that will make it authentic.

Some senior policemen told theeditorial.ng that the decision to replace Hundeyin comes amid ongoing internal restructuring within the police hierarchy following the emergence of a new leadership at the force headquarters.

However, as of writing this piece, sources said there are ongoing arguments on whether to replace him as planned or wait to a while.

It was gathered that who will replace Hundeyin as the new spokesperson of the force, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, has been told to report to the Force headquarters in Abuja, there is no office for him to report to as of 5pm.

SaharaReporters initially broke the story, reporting that Hundeyin, told its reporter that he was  “unavailable right now” and advised him to contact any of the FCT or state police command spokespersons.
