Countries supplying weapons to Iran will face 50% tariffs – Trump

US President Donald Trump says any country that supplies weapons to Iran would face 50 percent tariffs.
The president spoke in a Truth Social post on Wednesday in the wake of the ceasefire agreement reached between the US and Iran last night.
“A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!” he said.
In a separate post, Trump also said sanctions relief for Iran will be discussed and that many aspects of a 15-point plan had been agreed.
The president and Tehran had previously said a 10-point plan put forth by the Iranians would serve as the basis for the talks.
The acceptance of uranium enrichment, payment of compensation, withdrawal of US combat forces from the region and lifting of all sanctions are some of the other highlights of the proposal.
However, Trump said the US will work with Iran to dig up and remove buried uranium in the country.
Several European leaders have called on the US and Iran to quickly reach a diplomatic solution to their conflict.
“We strongly encourage quick progress towards a substantive negotiated settlement,” they said in a joint statement.
The leaders also called on all sides to implement the ceasefire, including in Lebanon where Israel is still firing multiple strikes.
