Crime reporters hail FPRO Hundeyin’s elevation to ACP

The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has hailed the elevation of the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, from CSP to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
A statement by Olalekan Olabulo, the CRAN President, expressed members’ views on Hundeyin’s elevation, who they described as professional, intelligent, and outstanding performer in managing the critical interface between the Police and the public.
Recall that Hundeyin was the PPRO of the Lagos State Police Command untio his appointment as the FPRO
According Olabulo, Hundeyin’s tenure as FPRO has so far been marked by effective communication, transparency, and constructive engagement with the media, significantly strengthening public trust and understanding.
“The Association particularly commends the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for approving this promotion. This decision underscores the IGP’s commitment to merit, competence, and institutional excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
“ACP Hundeyin has distinguished himself through a strategic and responsible approach to information management, balancing operational sensitivity with the public’s right to know. His leadership has helped redefine police-media relations by championing openness, accuracy, and professionalism in security communication.
“This promotion serves as a tremendous morale booster for officers across the Force. CRAN applauds the IGP for consistently rewarding hard work, integrity, and excellence, sending a clear message that dedication and performance are truly valued.
