Disu decorates New DIGs, seeks support for reforms

Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has decorated eight senior officers promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG).
The ceremony at Force Headquarters, Abuja, featured the newly promoted DIGs — Zachariah Fera Achinyan, Zango Ibrahim Baba, Isyaku Mohammed, Margaret Agebe Ochalla, Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, and Umar Shehu Nadada – being decorated with their new ranks by Disu.
In his address, IGP Disu emphasized that the promotion recognizes decades of dedicated service, professional excellence, and leadership capacity..
He charged the officers to provide strategic direction, strengthen internal discipline, drive reforms, and ensure policing strategies remain responsive to evolving security challenges.
Disu also urged the newly promoted DIGs to leverage their experience in intelligence-led policing, operational coordination, inter-agency collaboration, and accountability while inspiring confidence within the Force and trust among the public.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and to the Police Service Commission for ensuring transparency and professionalism in the promotion processes.
Congratulating the newly decorated officers, Disu expressed confidence that they would justify the trust reposed in them and contribute to strengthening the professionalism and effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
