The Executive Council of ECWA Fate-Tanke District Church Council in Ilorin, Kwara State, has expressed concern over the abduction of worshippers in one of its parishes in Kwara States.

The council described the incident as painful and disturbing, especially as attacks on churches and communities in parts of Kwara State have increased.

According to the church council, bandits invaded the ECWA church parish during a worship service and abducted eight members.

Among those taken was Mrs. Omole, the wife of the minister in charge of the church.

However, security sources confirmed that three of the abducted members were later rescued through the efforts of joint security forces.

In a statement, the church leadership said it received the news with great sadness, noting that the attack has deeply affected members of the congregation.

The council said the incident is another troubling development affecting ECWA churches and communities in the Kwara South Senatorial District.

The church council also urged security agencies to intensify proactive measures to protect lives and property.
