EFCC Arrests Ogun Assembly Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo.
The Editorial learnt that Oluomo was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, on Thursday morning, over allegations bordering on financial crimes.
A source with the assembly revealed the speaker was picked up by operatives of the commission following a tip-off.
The source said Oluomo was undergoing further grilling in the custody of the agency.
The EFCC had placed Oluomo on its wanted list following his failure to honour the commission’s invitation several times, a source within the commission who pleaded anonymity said.
The Ogun speaker and others were accused of forging signatures and financial documents of the Ogun assembly.
He has been taken to the EFCC’s Lagos office for further questioning.
