EKEDC announces daily power outages to enable TCN maintenance

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), has announced that residents under its service will experience daily power outages commencing Monday, July 28, 2025, until Thursday, August 21, 2025.

In a statement on Friday, EKEDC explained that the outages were necessary due to essential maintenance work being conducted by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330kV line.

The daily power cuts will take place from 8am. to 5pm, affecting various areas in Lagos and other regions within EKEDC’s service network.

Customers would experience intermittent electricity supply and load shedding throughout the Eko Disco network during this period.

“EKEDC has announced a daily planned power outage from Monday, 28 July, to Thursday, 21 August 2025, due to essential maintenance work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330 kV line.

“The outage will occur between 8am. and 5pm. each day, affecting several parts of Lagos and other serviced areas. During this period, residents should expect intermittent electricity supply and load shedding across the Eko Disco network,” the memo stated.
