Enugu Catholic Bishop lifts ban on Mbaka’s ministry
The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Calistus Onaga, has lifted the ban on the adoration Ministry ground belonging to the spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Father Ejike Mbaka, three months after shutting it.
The Bishop on June 18, announced the closing down of activities at AMEN, indefinitely following the outburst that trailed Father Ejike Mbaka’s assault on the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi.
According to Mbaka, Obi is too stingy to be president and that he can never “win the presidency of Nigeria because a generous old man is better than a young wicked person.”
After the sermon, the Diocese quickly disowned Mbaka stating that he doesn’t speak for the Catholic Church.
The Enugu priest later apologised to the supporters of Peter Obi and blessed the former Anambra Governor.
In his statement, he said there was never any intention to malign Obi or any person.
After his apology, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onaga stood his ground and banned Catholic members from attending the ministry and its activities.
Meanwhile, the spiritual Director AMEN, Mbaka on Thursday announced a new date for the reopening of the ministry.
Fr. Mbaka in a statement announcing the reopening said, “To the glory of God, Adoration Ministries starts on Sunday 2nd October, 2022 with 10am Mass. God bless you miraculously as you come Joyfully to worship God with us.”
