Jonas capital Nigeria Limited has cautioned members of the public against falling victim to fraudulent land transactions allegedly taking place within River Park Estate in Abuja.
The company, in a statement by its Chief Executive Officer, Kojo Ansah, on Thursday disclosed that some individuals have been unlawfully marketing and selling plots of land in the estate despite an ongoing legal dispute over the property.
“The general public is hereby warned to exercise extreme caution in dealing with certain individuals who are fraudulently marketing and selling parcels of land within River Park Estate,” Ansah said.
He stressed that JonahCapital Nigeria Ltd remained the “exclusive and lawful allottee of River Park Estate,” and advised anyone interested in buying land there to conduct proper due diligence before making any payments.
According to him, prospective buyers should take key steps including “verifying title status at the Department of Lands, confirming legal proceedings at the High Court of the FCT and Federal High Court, and authenticating the identity of directors of JonahCapital Nigeria Ltd with the Corporate Affairs Commission.”
He warned that ignoring these steps could lead to “serious legal and financial consequences.”
“Prior to making any buying decision in River Park Estate, consult your lawyer or contact JonahCapital Nigeria Ltd via Support@housesforafrica.co or +234-09040910003 for verification,” the CEO advised.
The statement comes amid growing concerns over the rising number of fraudulent property deals in Abuja and other major cities, with unsuspecting buyers often losing millions of naira to land scams.
JonahCapital urged the public to remain vigilant and only deal with verified representatives to avoid being defrauded.
