From 1998 to 2022, Abacha’s recovered loot hit $3.6 billion [INFOGRAPHICS]
The country has recovered a total of $3.6 billion between 1998 and 2022 from the money stashed in foreign banks by the late military administrator, Gen. Sani Abacha.
Theeditorial.ng had on Tuesday reported that Nigeria and the United States of America have signed an agreement for the repatriation of $23,439,724 recovered funds said to have been part of the cash looted by the late military administrator.
At the agreement signing ceremony held at the Federal Ministry of Justice on Tuesday, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami signed for Nigeria while the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard signed for her country.
