FRSC emergency number fails when AriseTv presenter tries it

A funny and awkward moment unfolded live on AriseTV when a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) official confidently praised the efficiency of Nigeria’s emergency number, 122.
While speaking on the programme, the FRSC officer described the emergency line as fast and reliable, even recalling how social media personality VDM once tried the number and was shocked that it connected immediately.
To test the claim, one of the presenters decided to dial the emergency number live on air. However, instead of connecting, the network response stated that the number dialled did not exist.
Hearing this, one of the presenters turned to the FRSC official in visible surprise and asked what would happen if it were a real emergency situation. In response, the officer explained that it was a network-related issue beyond the control of the FRSC, adding that such situations were not unusual.
The unexpected explanation left the presenters amused, and they couldn’t help but laugh as the moment played out live on television.
The clip has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians finding the moment both humorous and concerning, while questioning the reliability of emergency response systems in the country.
