FUNAAB student killed by OOU undergraduate buried in Lagos
The 300-level student of Pure and Applied Botany at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta in Ogun State, Ms. Christianah Idowu has been buried in Lagos.
Recall that Idowu was abducted between Ikorodu and Yaba, Lagos State on August 19.
She was said to be on her way to the University of Lagos.
Her corpse was later found after she was senselessly murdered, leaving many in great pain and sorrow.
The Lagos Police Command arrested 23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye, an undergraduate of the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State, suspected to have kidnapped and killed Idowu.
Idowu’s murder generated outrage across social media platforms in the country.
Using the #JusticeForChristianah, many users including the Nigerian hip pop star, Ayra Starr, demand justice.
To support her family, social media users especially on X, generated N1, 103,000 by Wednesday evening to help with the burial expenses.
The police reportedly exhumed the deceased body during the week and conducted an autopsy.
Afterwards, her remains were released to the family for final burial rites.
A private ceremony was held at the Sabo Ikorodu Cemetery in Lagos on Thursday.
The suspected killer is still in police custody.
