Funke Akindele’s star-studded film ‘Finding Me’ premieres March 16

‘Finding Me’, a movie by Funke Akindele, the Nigerian actress and producer, is set for release on Prime Video on March 16.
Written, produced and directed by Funke, ‘Finding Me’ is an exploration of self-discovery, transformation, and resilience. It is about finding yourself in every situation including love, confidence and life.
In May 2024, Akindele unveiled the star-studded cast, drumming up anticipation for the movie.
The cast members include Femi Adebayo, Shaffy Bello, Omoni Oboli, Dele Odule, Sharon Ooja, Tina Mba, Dakore Akande, Omoni Oboli, Omowunmi Dada, Efe Iwara, and Joseph Benjamin.
Akindele also featured fast-rising actors like Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Kemity, and AbdulGafar Abiola.
The 47-year-old filmmaker rose to prominence in 2008 for her movie ‘Jenifa’, which gained commercial success.
She has also been involved in many other productions including ‘Industreet’, ‘Maami’, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’, ‘Battle on Buka Street’ and ‘She Must Be Obeyed’.
In 2024, Akindele made history with the release of ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’, which became the highest-grossing movie of all time in West Africa, grossing nearly N2 billion.
In January, she was named the highest-grossing lead actress of 2024 for the same movie.
Akindele was also the second highest-grossing writer for her input on the same film in 2024.
