Future belongs to men, women of skills, says technical board chair as Iluomoba Ekiti college matriculates 100

Over 100 students of the Government Technical College, Iluomoba-Ekiti have been officially matriculated in keeping up with the long-held tradition of the prestigious college.
The event, which was attended by the Chairman, Board for Technical and Vocational Education, Hon. Kayode Babade, the Executive Secretary, Dr Ben Àjàyí and other board members, was also graced by the representative of the Kábíyèsí, Ajagun of Iluomoba-Ekiti, High Chief Ademuwagun (the Ọ̀pọ̀tọ̀ of Iluomoba-Ekiti) and other members of the Ajagun-in-council, among others.
The host principal of the technical college in Iluomoba-Ekiti, Mrs Rachael Oludare-Falana, commended the state government for the prompt response given to the needs and activities of the college as and when so required.
She also drummed support for Technical and Vocational Education, as nothing but the best form of education, saying it promotes acquisition of hands-on skills, therefore guaranteeing the economic prosperity of practitioners.
The Executive Secretary on his part said Ekiti Technical Colleges have never had it so good like now, especially under the indefatigable leadership of the Chairman. He expressed confidence in the ability of the matriculating college and the five other colleges to successfully train competent skilled labour for Ekiti State across all 19 trade areas currently available.
While addressing the entire gathering, Hon. Kayode Babade appreciates the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for the remarkable attention the administration has given the six Technical Colleges in Ekiti State.
“This characteristic gesture is reflected in the approval of the government to capture construction of Electrical Installation workshop at the college in the 2025 budget. Without doubt the college in Iluomoba-Ekiti has come to stay,” he said.
He enjoined traditional chiefs, parents, guests, members of staff and students present to continue to publicise the good efforts of Mr Governor and encourage their wards and friends to seek admission into any course of their interest.
He added, “The present and the future belongs to men and women of skills.”
