Gospel musician, Bummi Akinnanu ‘Omije oju mi’ dies after illness

Popular Nigerian gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, also known as Omije oju mi, has passed away after battling a serious illness.

Bunmi Akinnaanu was best known for her hit song “Omije Oju mi” and had been facing health challenges, with a viral video showing her in pain and seeking spiritual help in October 2025.

Her colleagues and fans had rallied around her, raising funds for her treatment and praying for her recovery
