Gunmen raid police station in Oyo, kill DCO, suspect

Gunmen have attacked Igangan Police Division in the Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo State, killing the Divisional Crime Officer and a suspect who was in detention.

A source also said the Divisional Police Officer, an Inspector pf Police and others suspects were on admission in hospital.

It was gathered that then gunmen beat the security network of the police, and they shot indiscriminately.

It was the shooting, that resulted in the death of the officer and the suspect in detention.

The motives behind the attack which resulted in the death of two persons could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

It was, however, gathered that the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams has led his management team on a fact-finding mission to the scene of the incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, said the attack was being investigated

He said, “Investigation has commenced on the matter and updates would be provided accordingly, please.”
