Gunmen shoot dead Kaduna pastor, demand N3m for kidnapped wife

The presiding pastor of the 2nd Evangelical Church Winning All in Damakasuwa community, Amako Maraya, has been killed by gunmen.

The wife of the clergy was also abducted by the gunmen in the community in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State

An elder in the Church, Mr Ishaku Chinge, said on Saturday that the gunmen invaded the community at around 11pm on Friday.

He recalled that some gunmen had few months ago attempted to  to kidnap the son of the clergy but were repelled by residents of the community.

He added, “They came again yesterday (Friday)” and gunned the pastor down, and kidnapped his wife.

“We heard that the gunmen had called this morning demanding N3m ransom from the family. They have not called since then.”

The acting state Police Public Relations Officer,  Mansir Hassan, had not responded to inquiries.”
