How can you accept $20,000 from somebody and still be spitting on that person – Fayose on OBJ’s comment

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has said he was no more angry at the former President Olusegun Obasanjo despite embarrassing him.
He however, revealed that during his 65th birthday party when he made disparaging remarks about him, he would have attacked the former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the uncomplimentary remarks he made for almost two hours.
He however, added that the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima and the respect for that office prevent him carrying out his plan.
He spoke in an exclusive interview with FrankTalkNigera, an online news platform, reflecting ton the drama that happened during his 65th birthday.
Ha said, “I was enraged. I felt like taking the mic (microphone) from Obasanjo’s hand and hitting it on his head. This is being sincere.
“But to show maturity, not by age, but by self-respect and out of consideration for the vice-president’s presence, I kept my cool. How do you say such things to a man on his 65th birthday?
“If I knew this was how it would end, what do I need Obasanjo for? Am I contesting the election? Do I need his validation? No.
“Whatever differences we have had in the past, let’s put them behind us. If I have offended you, if you have offended me, let us put it behind.
“I never called to go and apologise to Baba. I did not offend him. He was the one who removed me from office. If anybody should apologise, it is he.
“We took pictures together. All in good faith. I changed $20,000 and gave it to him. How can you accept somebody’s money and come and be spitting on that person?
Baba said he would be the one to speak last; I became suspicious. He later directed the moderator to invite Vice President Shettima befre him and requested that my wife and I stand beside him through a speech that lasted one hour 14 minutes.
I had given him $20,000 for arrangements; he returned it, and I thanked him. I converted it to naira.
I am happy. He cannot despise people and still keep their money.
I have written to him, reminding him to return the N10 million he admitted receiving. When I receive it, I will confirm publicly, just as I confirmed the return of the $20,000.
